Who Is Having The Relationship?

The second and third questions that were asked, relating to the post “Loving Yourself” were “who is having the relationship with the Authentic or Egoic Self?” and ”Is the Authentic Self a self at all?” The answer may or may not blow your mind, or at least stretch the mind as it tries to comprehend the answer. If there is a relationship taking place, it is the egoic self that is having it. The word ‘relationship’ connotes or implies one thing relating to something else. This defies the Authentic Self because there is no self there in the first place, much less can it have a relationship with something else because it lives in Oneness with All That Is.
The Authentic Self is the formless self, it is the no-self, it is the no-thing that is everything, all at the same time. (I have to admit; the mind/I finds it very interesting to write about something that is nothing (no-thing) and have it make sense; so let’s see where this goes!) The Authentic Self is an aspect of Existence. The word aspect implies that it is separate from something else but I am going to ask you to look at it from the perspective of a drop of the ocean is not the ocean, but it is the ocean, all at the same time. The Authentic Self relates to everything because it is everything, but it does not have a relationship with something because it is not separate from anything. The Authentic Self is an aspect or drop in the ocean of the Soul. No more than a drop of the ocean can have a relationship with another drop, the Authentic Self does not have a relationship with another Soul, or anything else for that matter.
As I said, for a relationship to happen there has to be at least two. There has to be something relating to something else. That being said, the ego or the mind can, and often does have a relationship with another aspect of the ego, the mind, the conditioned self. It can be anything from a love (mental love) relationship to a hate relationship, and/or anything in between. The mind can attempt to have a relationship with the Authentic Self but because it is the mind having the relationship, it is very limited.
I know that I have mentioned in past posts about beginning to have and/or build a relationship with the Authentic Self and that appears to contradict what I have just said in the above paragraph; so allow me to clarify exactly what I mean. I have been wanting you to become aware of the difference between the real you (whatever you choose to call it) and the conditioned you. Once you begin to see the difference, the difference between the real you and the conditioned you, you begin the journey of Self Awareness. You see, most people live their whole lives only getting to know only the conditioned self and their lives are limited because of the nature of that beast. Sometimes, it takes someone to plant a seed, a seed that shares the knowledge of something more than the conditioned self. Sometimes, that seed takes root and begins to flower, and once the flower has bloomed, the words that it took to plant the seed then become irrelevant.
Happy Blossoming…
Love and Namaste
