How much love do you let into your moments, your days, and in your life? How much love do you give to yourself and others? Are you possibly one of those types of people that offer love to others but are suspicious of love when it flows towards you?
Love is nothing to be suspicious of. Instead of being suspicious of someone else’s motivations, take a good long look at yourself. What has happened in your past experiences that has created this suspicious attitude? Begin to see how the dead past is forcing itself onto you in this moment of now. The past is the past; it is done, but you are allowing that past to remain present through your active suspicions. It may have been about someone else in the past (and their misconstrued concepts of love), but now, this moment is about you.
As situations happen in the present, the mind will constantly access files of the past. This will never stop as long as you have a mind. The best approach is to realize that it happens, and then move into your now. The mind is continually going to attempt to throw the past into the present. Recognize that it is happening, but put more focus on answering the call of this moment. Be open, be receptive, and allow the love to be expressed, as well as allow the love to be felt inside of you.
Love is the greatest alchemic force there is. It can transform you and your existence, if you allow it to do so, but you have to let it in. Begin to see that your suspicions now have more to do with you and your thinking than actually the object that has aroused your suspicions. Let the love in, it will come to you from many forms, and in many ways. Be open to love. Be open to the sharing of love. Be open to give love as well as receiving love from others. Let love change that base-metal heart into the riches of a gold heart.
