Living Beyond Your Religious and Spiritual Beliefs

I see something happening quite often. I see it with my life coaching clients and people in general. I see that a person’s religious and/or spiritual beliefs are the very things that keep them from living life to its fullest. And since this week’s posts have been on avoiding life because of your fear of death, I thought this was something worth writing about.

I see religious people that are afraid to live because of what they have been taught about God, his judgment, and the fear of what is going to happen to them because of that. I also see metaphysical people that are so ‘woo woo,’ their heads so high in the clouds, because of this belief system or that belief system, that their feet rarely touch the Earth. Now, do not get me wrong here! I am not saying that every religious person is this way or that every metaphysical person is afflicted with this dilemma, but I do see it often. The real dilemma is how it affects people. It brings suffering into their lives and when they come to me, they want help in changing it.

Each religious faith has its own ideas and concepts about God, his requirements, his judgments, and Heaven & Hell. Each has its own philosophies that address and/or correct your human ways. But let’s face facts, these philosophies are all built upon different ideas, but all illusionary. Illusions such as need, requirement, conditionality, superiority or inferiority, etc., etc. Each philosophy asks you to ascribe to an idea, and when a fault is found in the concept, the religious organization throws out another illusion that you have to buy into, if you choose to stay with the original idea and that religion.

Illusions are a hard thing for someone to understand and get, simply because they are an illusion. What is an illusion? It is something that looks real, but ultimately it is not! If someone believes what they are seeing is real, and you tell them that it is an illusion, they will fight with you, until they finally get it for themselves.

Religious organizations have asked people to ascribe to these ideas since the beginning of time (why they do this is a whole other post). Until you are ready to think for yourself, experience for yourself, you will not see the illusion as an illusion and you will not walk away from your religion (you just as well make yourself comfortable). However, once you do begin to think for yourself, you will begin to see the illusion for what it is. Then and only then you can either walk away or see the illusion for the illusion and still enjoy it!

Until that time happens, there is nothing I can say that is going to help you or the situation. Once you are ready, yes, there will be changes (external and internal) that will take place. This can be a scary time for people; after all, some very serious belief systems are being challenged. But, time heals all, and there is much liberation to be had!

Now, the metaphysical bird; she is a breed all of her own. It really is not much different than the religious person, just the names and faces have been changed. The problem still resides in the belief systems that are running your life. I have seen people get so caught up in the concepts of karma, darma, ‘energetic cords’ that bind people together, attempts at ‘raising your vibration’, protection spells, etc. that they forget to live life today!

Pretty much, same thing applies. Until a person is able to look at the illusion in the face and see it as an illusion, they will stay stuck!

Guys, this week, I have talked about the fear of life because of the fear of death. Wake up; you have this moment. There is nothing that you need in this moment; now go out there and express just that. If you would take a moment and look at your past moments of Now, you would see that you have never needed anything, nor has anyone ever needed anything of you. You would see that you have lived, and you are not going to die until. So, get out there and live! Screw the belief systems. Screw the people that continue to ask you to ascribe to those belief systems. Life is about living. Life is about experiencing. Life is about Loving, Living, and Laughing!
