So, we have been talking about the Game of Relationships. The Game of Relationships is the dance between two things, you and something else; whether it is a real thing or something that the mind has concocted. It is not only the dance, but your thoughts, feelings, and the response to the thing itself! Why is this significant pertaining to the Game of Life? It is significant because it reveals to you your awareness level at any given point; but I am getting ahead of myself.
The Game of Relationships goes much deeper that just the typical type of relationships, i.e. the relationship between two people. I am not just talking about a relationship between two people. It could be a relationship that you have with an actual person (no matter how long or how brief that encounter is), it could be a relationship with a living situation, a job, a pet, your finances, your family, and the list goes on. It could also be a relationship with a belief system about something, it could be your thoughts, ideas, and concepts about you or others. It could be your relationship with self and/or your own feelings. It could be about your religion or other religions. This game of relationships is between you and/with EVERYTHING!
Why is this significant to realize while playing the game? Why is this supportive to look at while playing the game? What does it tell you about you, while playing the game? Very simply, it reveals to you your judgments and your awareness level; for when you judge, you are not in awareness. How we judge something will determine the type of relationship that we have with that thing. Again, the ‘thing’ can be a real thing, an imagined thing, or even a thought about a thing. However, I do want to point out, even though you are judging something, it is not about the quality being judged, but very much about you!
When we allow something to become an adversary in our life, we have a negative relationship with that aspect. Having a negative relationship with something or someone, we are going against the Law of One. Ultimately, you are creating strife for yourselves and your life. Since we are all one, when we are against something, it can reveal that you are against something inside of you, even though it is being revealed through someone or something else. Also, within that same concept, when we are for something, there is a greater propensity to have an attachment to it. When we have an attachment to something, you have a great potential for suffering if that thing is no longer in your life.
Before we go any further into this discussion, I am going to ask you to do some internal homework. Today, as you go about your business, I want you to watch your thoughts. Specifically, I want you to watch your thoughts about things that you encounter throughout your day. Just watch yourself, your thoughts, and the mind, and begin to see how many times in the course of your day you are either for something or against something. You do not have to do anything about it, just become aware of it as it arises.
