Your Belief Systems Govern How You Related To Life

People have asked me why it is so important to look at your belief systems, and is having belief systems negative?
Belief systems are not intrinsically good or bad; however, they can, and often do have a great impact on your life. Belief systems govern how the mind functions, and how a person looks at life. In most situations a person’s belief systems are not theirs. For most people, their belief systems are what they have been taught to believe. Personally, I want to live my life in truth; my truth, not someone else’s truth, and often a belief system has nothing to do with truth.
We have all heard the expression that ‘if someone tells a lie enough times, they will begin to believe it as truth. This can also be true with our belief systems. You have heard it enough times, believed it to be true enough times, have acted upon it enough times, that it has become a part of you; but that does not necessarily make it truth!
Begin to start looking at what you have been told about life and people, places, and things. You may be surprised that you may look at things quite differently than what you had been told.
much love and namaste…

Belief Systems are for changing, growing out of and as a basic platform for our own questioning of self, the world as we see it and how we choose to respond or react. The author Byron Katie writes in her book; “I Need Your Love-Is That True?” that “Your most intimate relationship is the one you have with your thoughts.”
I think belief systems are nothing more than someone’s thoughts that are repeated over and over until they take on reality of their own and are shared many times from person to person and generation to generation, thought to be true just because they have been repeated so frequently.
In my experience a lot of people do not take the time to explore and question their thoughts and bliefs. Questions like: Do I really believe or know from my own experience that this is true? This belief may have been true for me once but does it still fit? Does this thought or belief support me in being the highest expression of my devine self?
Beliefs are not always loud, yelling inside our heads or thumps when we don’t pay attention. Just as with thoughts some beliefs we keep repeating to ourselves and thereby continue to support are those little shadowy whispers that slip in when we aren’t paying attention, that seem so small and unimportant that we dismiss them. These beliefs are the ones that lay in the background and unless watched for continue to filter into our lives and can be some of our biggest stumbling blocks.
We are indeed programmed just like computers and just like computers if we don’t pay attention to the programs that we have running and the files (toughts and beliefs) that we have saved we end up with a clogged up mess. Back when I took my first computer programming class we had saying that applied to all programming and it still applies today: “GIGO” Garbage In – Garbage Out. I challenge myself as well as all of you to clean and keep cleaning those internal files out. Question those thoughts and beliefs no matter where or whom they came from or how unimportant they seem to be. Are they truly yours?
