In yesterday’s post, “What Is An Affirmation?” we established that our life is a direct reflection of our predominant thought patterns and processes. Basically, what we think, how we think, and the repetition of those thoughts create the life that we experience. Since this is one of the ways in which we co-create with Existence; we can change our life simply by thinking differently, and maintaining those thoughts until we see the change that we wish to experience. We can use statements or affirmations to change the life that we are living.
The mind cannot tell when something is real or not. For quite some time scientists have used simulators and virtual realities to give people glimpses into things or to practice something before the actual event. The mind cannot tell the difference between what is real and what is being simulated. Using this premise, it does not matter if you start off believing your affirmation, or believing what you are saying during the affirmation, the mind will work for you in the creation of your new desire. You can tell yourself something over and over again until it does become something you believe, as well as becoming a reality in your life.
Here is another example. Haven’t you ever met someone who is a habitual liar? Many of them even begin to believe the lie to be true after telling it in repetition.
Allow me to explain what happens as you begin to work with affirmations. Let’s say that you have found an affirmation that you really like. It may even be something that may seem out of reach, but you like it just the same. Each morning, spend 10-15 minutes with that affirmation in a meditative state. Then go on about your day. Over time with this routine, you will begin to notice when you are doing or thinking things throughout your day that are not congruent with your new affirmation. If the affirmation is something that you truly want, you will begin to change those old patterns. As time goes by, with continued use of the affirmation and changing those old patterns inside yourself, you will begin to become a living example of the affirmation. Before you know it, you will see the affirmation manifest right before your eyes.
The mind is an amazing tool, and once you know how the tool works, you can use it to support you and benefit you along your journey.
Today’s affirmation:
I Am open, receptive and loving. I Am in love with Existence and since I am part of Existence, I AM loving to myself and the many expressions of Existence.
Love, Live and Laugh!
